The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints named their game-day inactives on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their season-opening contest at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.
The Buccaneers will be without cornerback Brent Grimes and rookie defensive tackle Vita Vea, both of whom were ruled out prior to Sunday. There was only one player on Tampa Bay's Friday injury report who was designated as "questionable," Donovan Smith, who has started all 48 of the Buccaneers' regular season games at left tackle since he was drafted in the second round in 2015. Smith's streak will reach 49 games on Sunday, as he was cleared to play after missing two weeks with a knee injury.
Tampa Bay also chose to go with three tailbacks in today's game, deactivating rookie Ronald Jones. Peyton Barber, Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Shaun Wilson are active.
The Saints' inactive list included just one player out due to injury: starting left guard Andrus Peat. Josh LeRibeus will start in his place.
