The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers named their game day inactives on Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week Five nationally-televised contest at Bank of America Stadium. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game; in this game, both teams submitted inactive lists made up almost completely of injured players.
DE Robert Ayers will miss his third straight game due to an ankle injury but has now been joined by the starting defensive tackle duo of Gerald McCoy (calf) and Clinton McDonald (hamstring). Running back Doug Martin will also be sidelined for a third consecutive game with a hamstring ailment.
Carolina's inactive list includes starting quarterback Cam Newton, the reigning league MVP, who suffered a concussion last Sunday in Atlanta. Other Panther starters sidelined by injury include tackle Michael Oher, running back Jonathan Stewart and cornerback James Bradberry.
