In Week 10, the Buccaneers fell to the 49ers 23-20 as Jake Moody kicked a walk-off 44-yard field goal. Explosive plays became an integral part of the outcome, as the 49ers amassed gains of 30, 46, 30, 32 and 33 to five different players with the Bucs longest play of the day being a 15-yarder by Cade Otton.

The Buccaneers won the coin toss at Raymond James Stadium and elected to defer. The 49ers' first offensive drive culminated in a Mitch Wishnowsky punt after a third-down incompletion to Ricky Pearsall. On the Bucs' opening offensive drive following two short runs, Baker Mayfield connected with Cade Otton over the middle of the field for a gain of 15 on third down. On the ensuing third down, Rachaad White was stopped by Fred Warner after a gain of a yard, forcing a punt.

Greg Gaines sacked Brock Purdy on the next defensive series on first down, which set up second-and-15. Zyon McCollum broke up a third-down pass intended for Ricky Pearsall, but a defensive holding penalty gifted the 49ers with a first down. The opposing team cashed in with a 46-yard touchdown pass from Purdy to Pearsall down the seam to make it a 7-0 game. In response, Baker Mayfield hit Bucky Irving in the flat for a pickup of 12 yards but on an attempted scramble on third down, he was sacked for a loss of one by Maliek Collins, forcing a punt from the 46.

The 49ers converted on third down as Purdy found George Kittle crossing the field for a gain of 13. Yaya Diaby beat his one-on-one and brought pressure, but Purdy got the ball out quick to evade the pass rush. After a pickup of eight on an in-breaker by Christian McCaffrey, a questionable defensive pass interference call on the Bucs moved the chains for San Francisco. The 49ers converted on third down as Purdy hit Jauan Jennings on an out-breaker for 11. San Francisco converted another third as Jennings picked up 18 yards on a corner route. He worked past the initial defender and Jordan Whitehead wrapped him up in the open field. The Bucs' defense stepped up and got a stop in the red zone, culminating in a Jake Moody 28-yard field goal.

On the Bucs' following drive, Mayfield checked it down to Bucky Irving on second down and Cade Otton boxed out Deommodore Lenoir for a third-down conversion. Otton became the catalyst on third down, picking up another for a gain of seven yards. With vision and quick acceleration through the hole, Irving gained 10 yards as he bounced outside on second down, setting the Bucs up at the San Francisco 24. After a screen to Irving on third down fell short of the sticks, Chase McLaughlin drilled a 30-yard field goal to make it a seven-point game, 10-3.

On the next defensive series, Whitehead saved a touchdown. Jennings picked up 30 yards and had a wide-open shot to the end zone, but Whitehead made the open-field tackle. Following an incompletion and a receiver being pushed out of bounds, the 49ers were forced to settle for a field goal. Moody's kick was wide to the left, keeping it a 10-3 score before the half.

The Bucs went three-and-out out of the half but a muffed catch on Trenton Gill's punt was recovered by Anthony Nelson at the San Francisco 21. The Bucs capitalized with a Rachaad White nine-yard touchdown. Payne Durham went in motion and White worked up the middle, then turned back to Mayfield to receive the catch. He plowed his way into the end zone to tie the game at 10 in the third quarter.

On the 49ers next 13-play, 55-yard drive, the visiting team had to settle for a Moody 33-yard field goal. A first down by Christian McCaffrey on an out-breaker set the 49ers up at first-and-goal from the Tampa Bay 9. Purdy was sacked by Joe Tryon-Shoyinka on second down for a loss of 10, which set up third-and-19. Samuel was stopped short by Kancey/Diaby on third, which led to the subsequent kick.

To open the Bucs ensuing drive, Rachaad White picked up 10 yards on a screen and followed suit with gains of eight and five yards up the middle by the right guard. Irving finished off the 10-play, 70-yard drive with a 12-yard touchdown. Payne Durham and Luke Goedeke paved the way on pulls, moving to the right side of the field and Irving flowed behind for the score, which provided the Bucs with their first lead of the day.

Following the kick, Kittle picked up a gain of 33 yards which brought the 49ers to their own 30-yard line. Jennings was stopped short of the first on third down, which forced a Moody 50-yard field goal attempt. He was wide left, keeping Tampa Bay in the driver's seat. The 49ers' defense then forced a quick three-and-out, putting Purdy and co. back on the field.

On the following drive for the 49ers, a 30-yard gain by McCaffrey to the Tampa Bay 23-yard line and an unnecessary roughness penalty on the Bucs gave the 49ers a first down at the 11. The 49ers six-play drive ended in an 11-yard Kittle touchdown to give San Francisco a 20-17 lead. Kittle kept working in the back of the end zone to gain separation in a one-on-one and Purdy delivered a dart. The Bucs answered with a quick three-and-out after Mayfield was sacked by Nick Bosa on third down (-10).

Deebo Samuel sparked the next drive for San Francisco with a 32-yard gain over the middle of the field to their own 39-yard line. Following an incompletion to McCaffrey on third down, Moody missed a 44-yard field goal attempt, keeping it a three-point game.

On the following drive, Mayfield made a sensational throw on fourth down to move the chains. With a defender hanging on one arm, he delivered a dart to White one-handed for a gain of eight. White jumped up to make the grab between a trio of 49rs. A defensive holding and facemask penalty on the 49ers brought the Bucs to first-and-10 from the 14-yard line. An ensuing roughing the passer on Maliek Collins brought Tampa Bay to first-and-goal. The Bucs were not able to capitalize with seven and settled for a McLaughlin 26-yard field goal to tie it at 20 with 41 seconds left in regulation.

On the following drive, the 49ers marched their way into field goal range and the 49ers spiked the ball to stop the clock with three seconds left. Moody drilled a 44-yarder to give the 49ers the victory.
