New Buccaneer tackle Kenyatta Walker celebrates a victory with Florida Head Coach Steve Spurrier
At 11:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers General Manager Rich McKay told Buccaneers.com users that his team was unlikely to move up in the first round of the draft.
Two-and-a-half hours later, the Buccaneers moved up.
That is an indication of how seriously Tampa Bay wanted Florida offensive tackle Kenyatta Walker.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., the Buccaneers traded the 21st overall pick in the first round and their second-round selection to Buffalo for the 14th pick in the first round. The Bucs immediately selected Walker, who is expected to have a similarly quick impact on the team's offensive line.
More information on Walker, plus the thoughts of McKay and Head Coach Tony Dungy, will follow shortly.
