Bucs-Bears Inactives: David Ruled Out

Though it truly came down to a game-day decision, LB Lavonte David will be inactive Sunday, missing the first game of his NFL career due to a hamstring strain...Doug Martin and Alterraun Verner return

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears named their game day inactives on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 12 matchup at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. NFL teams are required to reduce their active rosters to 46 players for each regular-season game.

The Bucs' Week 12 inactives includes a name that has never before graced that list: LB Lavonte David, the NFL's co-leader in tackles. David, who is trying to overcome a sore hamstring, tested out his leg before the game but was not cleared for action. As such, he will sit out for the first time in his three-year NFL career. With running back Doug Martin and CB Alterraun Verner returning from multiple-game absences, David is the only Buccaneer who is out due to injury on Sunday.

The Bears will need to employ a new man on kickoff and punt returns, as WR Chris Williams is inactive due to injury. Brian de la Puente will start at right tackle with Jordan Mills also sidelined by injury.
