Following a loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 17, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the 9th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers were one of four teams to finish with a 6-10 record, but have priority over the two other teams with a similar record because of their strength of schedule. Also finishing 6-10 were the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and Chicago Bears.

The 2016 NFL Draft will be held from April 28th to April 30th in Chicago, Illinois. It will be the 81st NFL Draft and the second year in a row that the event has been held in Chicago. The Draft had been held in New York City from 1965 to 2014 before moving to Chicago last spring.

The Buccaneers landed four starters in their 2015 draft class – quarterback Jameis Winston, guard Ali Marpet, offensive tackle Donovan Smith and linebacker Kwon Alexander. Winston is in contention for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award while Alexander finished second on the team in tackles and earned the NFL's Rookie of the Week award twice.
