Following the completion of the second stage of a $140-plus million multi-phase renovation, Raymond James Stadium now boasts the most technologically advanced HD video system in use today. Named BV6, short for BucVision to the sixth power, it is comprised of two massive 9,600 square-foot boards on the north and south ends of the stadium - and four large 2,300 square-foot HD tower walls. With more than 31,000 square feet of video display space, BV6 ranks as the third-largest video board system in the NFL.
What sets BV6 apart from the video displays at all other sports venues are the four video tower walls, located in each corner of the stadium, that have the ability to operate collectively or independent of each other to provide fans with a completely immersive and first-of-its-kind viewing experience. Fans will have access to real time fantasy sports statistics, live recaps of action from around the NFL, social media applications such as Twitter and Instagram, and Buccaneers stats as never seen before.
Raymond James Stadium will now be the first NFL venue capable of simultaneously presenting up to three separate replay angles for the most important plays during Bucs games. As opposed to most stadium replays available today that are limited to one or possibly two angles, BV6 will bring fans in all stadium viewing areas closer to the action than ever before. The replays will be displayed on the main end zone boards and both corner tower displays on each end of the field.
"With its innovative video technology, BV6 will completely change the in-game experience for fans at Raymond James Stadium," said Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford. "No other NFL stadium has the technology to match the nearly limitless options which BV6 offers for providing fans the ultimate gameday viewing experience."
Whereas the previous Raymond James Stadium video system consisted of eight different in-stadium cameras, BV6 will have access to up to 31 different camera angles in order to ensure optimum replay options.
The boards will also play a key role in a variety of in-game content enhancements including the team's new signature pre-game animation that will involve an NFL-first eight displays to form a 360 degree canvas for an epic ship battle between the Buccaneers and that week's opponent.
The Buccaneers Official App will provide fans at Raymond James Stadium with unprecedented access and interactivity to BV6 each gameday. Once inside the stadium, fans utilizing the app will have exclusive access to multiple live camera angles and the Red Zone channel. Additionally, there will be interactive features throughout each game where fans will have the chance to participate by using their smart phones to experience augmented reality. Another unique game enhancement for fans in attendance will be the "15 Seconds of Fame Moment", which will allow any fan that is shown on BV6 throughout the game to receive a personalized video clip via the Buccaneers Official App.
