BUCCANEERS SIGN THOMPSON

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed wide receiver Cody Thompson.

Thompson (6-2, 205) originally entered the league as a college free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 and has since spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals. He has appeared in 12 career games – all for the Seahawks – between the 2021 and 2023 seasons, bringing in one career reception for 10 yards. The Huron, Ohio, native played collegiately at the University of Toledo (2014-18), appearing in 56 career games and bringing in 181 receptions for 3,312 yards and a program-record 30 receiving touchdowns. He received first-team All-MAC honors in 2016 and 2018, the two seasons in which he recorded double-digit touchdown receptions.
