The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the team has signed cornerback De'Vante Harris and linebacker Kevin Minter. The team also announced that cornerback Javien Elliott has been waived.
Harris (5-11, 190) spent time with Tampa Bay earlier this season. He spent the previous two seasons (2016-17) playing for the New Orleans Saints. The Mesquite, Texas native entered the league as a college free agent with New Orleans in 2016. He has played in 21 career games, with one start, registering 24 tackles, three passes defensed, one fumble recovery and six special teams tackles. Harris played collegiately at Texas A&M.
Minter (6-0, 246) originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick (45th overall) of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons with Arizona (2013-16), before spending the 2017 season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent this past offseason and preseason with the New York Jets.
In his NFL career, Minter has played in 57 games, with 44 starts, totaling 251 tackles (22 for loss), 5.0 sacks, four passes defensed and a forced fumble. A native of Suwanee, Georgia, Minter played collegiately at LSU.
