BUCCANEERS SIGN CANNELLA

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today signed tight end Salvatore Cannella.

Cannella (6-5, 242) most recently spent time with the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL). He appeared in 10 games during the 2024 UFL season, recording 53 receptions for 496 yards and a league-high six receiving touchdowns. Cannella also ranked third in receptions, fourth in yards after catch (226), and fifth in receiving yards last season.

In addition to playing in the UFL, Canella has also competed in the NFL, XFL (2023), and USFL (2022). He was a member of the Renegades during their 2023 XFL championship season and was previously named to the All-USFL Team in 2022 in his lone season with the New Orleans Breakers. He has had multiple offseason stints in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins (2021), Green Bay Packers (2022), and the Seattle Seahawks (2023).

The Schaumburg, Illinois, native played college football at Auburn (2017-19) and Scottsdale Community College (2016) before signing with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent. He will wear No. 49 for Tampa Bay.
