Tampa Bay originally held the No. 70 pick but traded down with the Los Angeles Rams, swapping third-round picks and gaining an additional third-round pick in the process. With the first of those picks, the Buccaneers selected cornerback Jamel Dean out of Auburn University with the 94th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The 6-1, 206-pound corner is originally from Cocoa, Florida and was a two-year starter for the Tigers. His career stats at Auburn saw him record 73 total tackles, 4.5 for loss, two interceptions and 19 pass breakups in 26 games played. He earned himself a 2019 NFL Combine invitation where he ran a 4.3 40-yard dash with a 41.0-inch vertical jump.
