Approximately 9,000 local children have received backpacks and supplies through the Glazer Family Foundation program
The 2005 school year has not yet come to a close but the Glazer Family Foundation is already gearing up to go back to class in the fall.
Each summer, the Glazer Family Foundation donates 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies and Buccaneers merchandise to area schools and youth organizations. Since the program's inception, the Foundation has provided backpacks and supplies to approximately 9,000 children at more than 35 schools and organizations.
That's why, even with the next school year more than four months away, it's already time to get busy. The Glazer Family Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2006 Backpack It Back-To-School Program.
If you would like to apply to receive backpacks for your school or youth organization, please visit the Backpack It Back-To-School section at GlazerFamilyFoundation.com to access the application. Completed applications must be mailed to the Foundation and must be postmarked by June 1, 2006.

Honoring Mom
On Friday, Buccaneer linebackers Ryan Nece and Shelton Quarles will honor the Best Moms in the Bay during a special luncheon at Raymond James Stadium sponsored by BB&T and The Tampa Tribune.
After considering more than 500 nominees from all over the Bay area, Nece and Quarles selected 50 as finalists and invited each to attend Friday's luncheon along with a guest. Each mother in attendance will receive a gift bag and the chance to win raffle prizes. Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio will serve as the guest speaker at the luncheon.
Nece and Quarles will announce their Best Three Moms and present each with a special gift package including two front row tickets to a Buccaneers home game, restaurant gift certificates and complimentary vacation packages at hotels in Tampa and Orlando. The overall winner will also receive the opportunity to have her picture taken with Nece and Quarles on the field prior to the Buccaneers game she attends.
