AP Pro32 comments about Buccaneers

AP Pro32-Buccaneers Comments

NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (15)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 15) - Honoring 10-year anniversary of Super Bowl team on Sunday.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 14) - Greg Schiano has laid a foundation for success in his first season.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 16)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 14) - After two straight loses to playoff bound teams (Atlanta, Denver),they have an upfield battle to make the postseason.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 16) - Doug Martin a mere mortal against the Broncos, which makes it tough on Bucs' playoff hopes. Wild card race is crowded, but three of last four against teams with losing record. And finale is against Atlanta, which may rest starters by then.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 15) - The Buccaneers are a defensive contradiction, ranking first in the NFL in run defense but last in pass defense. Tampa Bay has allowed eight individual 100-yard receivers.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 16) - Just when the Bucs start thinking that maybe, just maybe, they're good enough to play with the big boys, along comes Peyton Manning for a reality check.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 15) - Back-to-back losses to division leaders leaves them at the NFL crossroads.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 15) - There's no doubt that Josh Freeman can lead a team to the Super Bowl someday. Right now they are learning how to win. There is no quit in this team.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 16) - The Bucs gave the Broncos all they could handle in the first half. In the second half, Peyton Manning and Von Miller proved to be too much for the Bucs. Schiano can coach and has this team prepared and ready to compete every week.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 16) - Note to Bucs head coach Greg Schiano: There is such a thing as karma. Remember that each time you attack the victory formation like at the end of last Sunday's 31-23 loss to Denver.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 15) - They probably would love to have someone dive at their knees during a couple of late game kneel downs.
