The Tampa Bay Buccaneers required their rookies to report for training camp on Monday, with the veteran players following suit on Tuesday. All but one of the 91 players on the Buccaneers' camp roster did so; outside linebacker Randy Gregory was absent. As a result, the Buccaneers placed Gregory on the reserve/did not report list.

The team also placed quarterback Zack Annexstad and tight end Tanner Taula on the active/non-football injury list.

The Buccaneers held a team conditioning session on the AdventHealth Center practice fields on Tuesday at noon, then conducted the first full-team meeting later in the afternoon. They will practice for the first time on Wednesday morning.

Tampa Bay signed Gregory, most recently of the San Francisco 49ers, as an unrestricted free agent on April 3. He subsequently did not participate in voluntary offseason workouts or attend the team's mandatory three-day minicamp in June.

A second-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2015, Gregory has played 72 career games with 18 starts for the Cowboys, 49ers and Denver Broncos. He was traded by Denver ot San Francisco at midseason last year. Gregory's career statistics include 22.0 sacks, 117 tackles, 69 quarterback his and 10 forced fumbles.

The Buccaneers were allowed to bring 91 players to camp because tackle Lorenz Metz is the product of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program and thus carries a roster exemption. With Gregory on the reserve list, the Bucs will start work on Wednesday morning with eight outside linebackers in the mix, including 2023 rookie standout Yaya Diaby, 2024 second-round pick Chris Braswell and former first-round selection Joe Tryon-Shoyinka.
