5 Standouts from the Combine, March 6

A few players who impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine on Monday - presented by Florida Hospital.

Defensive Backs participate in drills during the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis - presented by Florida Hospital.

1. S Obi Melifonwu
Melifonwu was one of the stars of the Combine on Monday, clocking in at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash, the fastest of all safeties. Even more impressive about his time is his size; Melifonwu ran that fast being 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds. He also recorded a 44-inch vertical jump and 141-inch broad jump, which led all players at the Combine this year.

2. CB Jalen Myrick
He might not have broken John Ross's record, but Myrick was close. He finished the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds, the fastest of any defensive back running on Monday. Myrick also recorded a vertical jump of 37.5 inches and a and a broad jump of 124 inches, which was the sixth-best among cornerbacks.

  1. CB Fabian Moreau**
Right behind Myrick in the 40-yard dash was Moreau, who finished the drill in 4.35 seconds. His broad jump of 136 inches was four inches further than any other player at his position while his vertical jump of 38 inches was the fifth-best of all cornerbacks.

4. S Josh Jones
Had it not been for Melifonwu's standouts performance, Jones would have been the top-performing safety during Monday's workouts. He finished the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, right behind Melifonwu, and was No. 2 in the broad jump, albeit distantly, with a distance of 131 inches. Jones recorded 20 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, the most among safeties, and finished No. 3 among players at his position in the vertical jump.

5. S Budda Baker
Baker was the top-performing safety in the 20-yard shuttle, completing the drill in 4.08 seconds, and ran the 40 in 4.45 seconds, the fourth-fastest among all safeties. He also recorded 15 reps on the bench press. Baker has been linked to the Buccaneers in several mock drafts in the past six weeks.
