Head Coach Jon Gruden
(On the first touchdown drive) It was a good drive. Brian Griese has had a great camp and did a heck of a job on the two-minute drill. That was a great way to end the half. We still have a little bit more work to do.
(On the play of the offensive line) They are playing very well. It is a good clean football game. I dont think we have had any penalties. I have been really pleased with a lot of players and the execution has been solid. We just have to catch the ball a little bit better and make some more plays.
CB Ronde Barber
(On the defense) There is always going to be some snags here and there. Nobody can grade out at 100 percent ever, especially in the first preseason game. It is the first time watching somebody in another jersey play.
C Jeff Faine
(On making his debut with the Buccaneers) It was good. It was just short. I really didnt want to come off that early, but it was good to get out there and move around a little bit.
(On the overall performance of the offense) I think its still a work in progress. It looked like a normal first preseason game. Everybody is trying to get out there, play hard, and mesh a little bit. I look for us to work some more this next week and keep growing and have a better performance next week.
(On the offensive line going against somebody else) It was fresh going against somebody else. We have a really talented defensive front, so there is great competition day in and day out at practice. Going against these guys, it felt good to go against new faces and I thought we played pretty well.
QB Luke McCown
(On starting the first preseason game) Its always fun to start playing ball again. We have a lot of preseason left; a lot of training camp left. It was good to get out here and play. I was able to get some experience and get some time. I think we did some good things. We have a lot to learn when we look at the tape and well get better from it.
(On the performance of the offense) I think we did well. We moved the ball. We were slow a little early. They did some good things on defense. We got it going after a series or two. We had a couple of good drives, but we just have to finish. I missed the throw in the end zone and we have to come away with points when we get good drives like that.
LB Barrett Ruud
(On how it is to get back on the field) Mostly it was good to get live reps again; getting back to full speed tackling and getting into some game situations. Its really just getting your feet wet.
(On what he feels the first team defense needs to work on) We just have to get used to game speed, game tackling and just get honed in. I think we did a pretty good job; everybody was hustling. We have a couple of big hits out there but all around we are just trying to get a feel for the game again.
