Last time we checked up on Mike Evans, he was making a strong case for the Rookie of the Year Award and moving up amongst former Buccaneers greats at the position. Now, Evans is looking to set several milestones in the final game of the season and continue to bolster his candidacy.
Evans stands at 997 total receiving yards, just three yards short of becoming the second Buccaneers rookie to hit 1,000 yards receiving. With Vincent Jackson at 991, this will likely be the first time in Bucs history that the team features two 1,000-yard receivers. Another record Evans has a good chance to break is most receiving touchdowns scored by a Buccaneer. He has tied the record at 11 and will definitely be looking for the endzone on Sunday. Amongst an impressive rookie quartet of receivers, Evans leads the bunch in yards per reception, most 25 yard receptions, average depth of catch, and is tied for most touchdowns. Evans's has continued to improve his chances of winning the Rookie of the Year Award with impressive stats and highlight-reel catches. Now he has one last game to impress the voters just before their final ballot.
