Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans caught 68 passes for 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns during his rookie campaign in 2014, enough to earn him a nomination for the NFL's Rookie of the Year award.
Evans was honored with another award for his outstanding season on Tuesday when the National Football Writers of America named him one of two wide receivers on their All-Rookie team.
He and the Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. were the two wide receivers selected for the team. Beckham caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns and edged Evans out for the PFWA's Rookie of the Year award.
In the final game of 2014, Evans set the Buccaneers' single-season record for receiving touchdowns with 12. He and Vincent Jackson surpassed 1,000 receiving yards on the season in that same game, becoming the first Buccaneer duo to do so.
Evans was the second Buccaneer honored by the PFWA in as many days after defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was named to the orginization's All-NFC team.
