At the NFL Scouting Combine, cornerbacks and safeties are grouped together into one, big defensive back group. Alabama's Landon Collins is by far the top safety in this year's draft class and is the only defensive back projected to be selected in the top 10. As a junior in 2014, Collins recorded 87 tackles and intercepted three passes. Michigan State's Trae Waynes is considered to be the second-best defensive back and the top cornerback in this year's draft class. He recorded 34 tackles and three interceptions this past season.
